BOCA Group has been awarded the elevator modernization project of six elevators at 97-77 Queens Boulevard, a 15-story commercial building. The project is currently in its early stages. The modernization is set to include compliance with the 2027 unintended movement solutions standards. 

BOCA Group’s role includes preparing the elevator modernization specifications and overseeing the replacement of key elevator components, such as the elevator machine, controller, pushbutton fixtures, door equipment, interior cabs, and more. We are also responsible for managing the bidding process, which involves sourcing qualified contractors, bid analysis, conducting interviews, and assisting with the official construction agreement.

Once the contractor’s submittals are turned in to BOCA Group’s Engineering Department, we will review for code and specification compliance. Throughout the modernization project, BOCA Group team members will be on-site at 97-77 Queens Boulevard to oversee the project progress, provide ownership with progress reports outlining the completed work, and confirm the schedule is moving on the contracted timeline. 

Upon completion, all six elevators will meet the latest and upcoming code requirements and will operate more efficiently, safely, and smoothly. Updates to come!
