Questions from Architects and Developers for New Facility Designs

If my elevators keep malfunctioning, must I spend money for a complete modernization of the system?

Possibly if the problem is isolated and occurring in one area only, such as the dispatcher, controller or floor selector.  Some equipment can be individually modernized without requiring you to totally modernize everything.  But, when undergoing a partial "mod", you must be sure that the equipment you replace is compatible with the new equipment when later you decide to modernize the rest of the system.  The replacement equipment must not be proprietary to a single source company, as you always want to be in a competitive bid situation.
